Star Wars: The Old Republic Sales Predicted To Hit 3 Million In The First Year

That is right, Cowen & Company analyst Doug Creutz predicts that the upcoming Star Wars: The Old Republic will sell over 3 million units in its first year. This is based off of current release date data and pricing plans.

Cowen and Company, LLC, a U.S. based Investment Bank and Financial Institution is predicting over 3 million in game box sales before the end of calendar year 2012.

Creutz says, “We are assuming that the title sells through 3 Million units in its first year of release, with the subscriber count reaching (and staying level at) 2 million by the end of CY12. We note that with the announcement of the title’s release date, we have seen pre-order activity for the title reaccelerate.”

It has already been predicted based on current sales numbers that Star Wars: The Old Republic will have the largest MMO launch sales on record.

Currently SWTOR will have a pricing plan of:

1st 30 days free with the purchase of a new copy
$14.99/£8.99/€12.99 per month thereafter
$41.97/£25.17/€35.97 for three months
$77.94/£46.14/€65.94 for six months

With a current launch date of December 20, 2011 and December 22nd in the EU, we will soon see if all the predictions are correct.
