Random Update: Space Combat Video Released! *UPDATED*

Well, it’s an awkward day to be releasing new information/videos, but Bioware doesn’t seem afraid to do just that. Today, they release a video covering space combat! Might I say, it’s actually really pretty…check it out after the break.
Throughout this video, you can see the ship for what I’m assuming is the Imperial Agent (0:33), The Smuggler (0:37), The Trooper (0:40), the Sith ship in action (0:47), What I’m guessing to be the Bounty Hunter ship (0:51), and the Jedi Ship in action (0:55). All in all, that covers each of the six ships we’ve been told we’ll see in the game. Honestly? I’m really not disappointed by anything shown in this video…except the obese Sith Lord.
*UPDATE*
Gamespot picked off an interview with Daniel Erickson covering this topic, very interesting interview and a few things were revealed:
- It appears Battlegrounds, Space Missions, and other such “mini-game” ordeals will be granting exp rewards as well as possible further benefits.
- Space combat is likely going to at least have a minute necessity to be partaken in throughout your story, meaning it’s not entirely optional.
- Apparently, companions will possess “kits”, similar to the AI in KotOR, but perhaps a little more complex. If you want them to heal, you select that pre-programmed mind-set for them. Not as complicated as Dragon Age, but much more helpful than in Mass Effect.
- They lied, their game isn’t balanced yet.
