Stats and What They Do! One thing that always puzzled me when looking at information people have gotten from their hands-on time with Star Wars: The Old Republic was that no one had ever bothered to look at what stats did. More importantly, no one ever looked to analyze what those stats might mean. Call it the min/maxxer in me, but this is very important, so I decided to do it myself.

A "SeanBerg" Flies Away

Today it was confirmed by BioWare that everyone's favorite Star Wars: The Old Republic Community Manager, Sean Dahlberg, would be leaving BioWare to head onto new things. I am sure many of you, like myself, are very saddened by the news since Sean was a great asset to all of us. He certainly will be missed, for more specifics read on!

On show 64 Samm and Musco are joined by K, Brandon and Kimi as we dissect this weeks news. A new Timeline, 4 more species announced, and some new information on space combat. Enjoy!

Welcome to one of the most important articles you will read about Star Wars: The Old Republic prior to the launch of the game. In this article I will spell out for you what you need to know about the Game Testers Agreement. You remember, that legally binding agreement you signed? It is common knowledge that most people won’t read it and will just hit accept. Well, if you are one of those people you better read this article otherwise you might be in for a rude awakening on what exactly you signed. I do still recommend you read the entire Agreement for yourself.

So, today’s another exciting Friday where you have your F5 key bound to left-click, and your browser tab set to swtor.com…Only to be stuck in that position for 6 or so hours after you expected. Either way, today’s news is a fairly nice addition (though not a new one): We received an official video of the Multiplayer demo shown at E3, as well as an announcement of the TOR team at Comic-con! Read more for my thoughts, notes, and what’s going on at Comic-con!

Some time ago there was a thread on the official forums that questioned the filtering of the terms "gay", "lesbian", and "homosexual". This thread caused a stir in the Star Wars: The Old Republic community after it was closed and a highly reactive article appeared on Kotaku and other gaming news sites. This event ignited a debate regarding the inclusion of same-sex romance options for companion characters in TOR that has remained one of the longest running debates on the TOR forums. Personally, I feel there is nothing wrong with the inclusion of same-sex romance arcs, especially for a narrative-centric game such as TOR, and fully expect BioWare to include them. I only wonder how clearly labeled these same-sex romance options will be.
We have been told that Star Wars: The Old Republic will feature a crafting system worthy of an MMO. This is something we have not seen from BioWare previously and many are curious what form TOR's crafting system will take. Generally, there are two styles of crafting that one sees in MMOs: ancillary crafting—the crafting of consumables, add-ons, and upgrades by a player who sacrifices no combat ability—and dedicated crafting—where full-time crafters churn out the majority of if not all items used in the game by combat-oriented players. From what we've seen of TOR so far, it seems obvious that we'll get the former rather than the latter dynamic, and that TOR will NOT include a player-run, crafter-centric sort of economy.
We were lucky enough to land an interview with BioWare's very own and very well known Community Manager, Sean Dahlberg. Here it is as our very own Samm 'Money' Carbo and Brandon Miletta have a 35 minute conversation with Dahlberg! Video after the break.

"Hope" Video Dissection

We promised to show you dissection like you had never seen before and on the eve of the "Hope" release we are here to make good on our word. Enjoy our first ever video dissection!

It’s been a busy week for E3, so rather than spamming all sorts of news at you consistently, I figured I’d go ahead and just take a bunch of fun things I’ve found and have been given covering Star Wars: The Old Republic at E3(2010), and dish out  my own thoughts and impressions as well as the pure facts. At the end of the article, you’ll find a whole slew of coverage that’s been gone through in that you may want to check out for yourself, if you haven’t already!

It’s a little-bit late, but seeing as how this week was QUITE a busy one, I can understand Bioware being a bit slow to release this comic today. Here we have 7 pages of (once again) epic story, primarily consisting of combat between our favorite two Sith. Read on after the break for the summary and notes. SPOILER ALERT: Read the comic if you don’t wish to have things spoiled.
